About the webinar: According to the 2017 Findex, account registration increased globally but inactive accounts remain prevalent and savings behavior did not change - particularly in developing countries. The Financial Inclusion Insights (FII) Team compared these findings from the Findex report to FII's 2017 data - with focus on India and Bangladesh. The webinar, hosted by Director of Research Samuel Schueth, discussed and compared ways in which the two South Asian countries transitioned from access and registration, to active and advanced use of financial service accounts while also highlighting barriers to savings and reasons for account dormancy.
